The Forensic Comparison Microscope is a highly advanced and versatile scientific instrument specially designed for detailed comparative micro-analysis in forensic science, geology, metallurgy, mineralogy, crystallography, and chemical microscopy. Trusted by scientists, forensic experts, and criminologists worldwide, this sophisticated microscope integrates the latest opto-mechanical innovations in light microscopy to deliver precise comparative examination results.
This advanced comparison microscope enables simultaneous observation of two different micro samples through a single viewing system. The split-image optical arrangement displays one specimen on the left side and the second specimen on the right side, allowing accurate side-by-side comparison under identical lighting conditions and magnification. It is widely used for the examination and comparison of fibres, hair samples, bullets, paint fragments, industrial materials, and other forensic evidence.
The instrument consists of two independent microscopes mounted on a heavy-duty built-in illuminated base. Each microscope is equipped with its own illumination system, quadruple revolving nosepiece, coarse and fine focusing controls, and 120mm x 120mm stage. Precision leveling screws are incorporated to ensure exact optical alignment between both microscopes for accurate comparative analysis.
The system provides transmitted illumination for transparent specimens, incident illumination for opaque materials, and dedicated spot lamps for document and paper examination applications. A specially designed comparison bridge merges both optical beam paths, producing two adjacent specimen images separated by a fine dividing line within the field of view through a monocular observation tube.
Standard Comparison Microscopes are available with magnification ranging from 20x to 600x using the following optical combination:
All paired objectives are flat field, strain free, and provided with anti-reflection coating to ensure sharp image quality, reduced glare, and improved contrast during critical examination work.
The microscope is supplied complete with a special vice-type mechanical stage designed to securely hold objects such as bullets, coins, and industrial materials. An additional specimen plate is also provided for examining currency notes, cartons, stamps, fingerprints, and similar forensic materials.
